THE WHANGAREI SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM

The inaugural Whangarei Sculpture Symposium will have 15 artists
sculpting and carving in stone and wood from Wednesday 10th February –
Saturday 20th February. Come along and watch the sculptors at work.
Viewing hours 10am – 7pm, free to the public.

At the end of the symposium one piece will be selected / judged as the
best design; the artist will be awarded a cash prize of $5000 and the
sculpture piece will be installed in a public space within the
Whangarei District.

Saturday 20th February there will be a closing and award ceremony,
which will include live music and entertainment and auction of
completed sculptures.
Entertainment 12noon – 4pm, Auction starts at 2pm
