News - GIANT PUPPET PARADE, Whangarei

The Arts Promotion Trust held a meeting with some of the artists involved in this years parade.

Some of their suggestions were:

Include street performers & puppet shows on the day of parade.

Contact schools & encourage art teachers to include the event in their cirriculum.

Advertise the parade route more effectively.

Have street marshalls for safety & crowd control.

Encourage more bands to perform in the parade.

Hold a competition for puppet makers with specified categories (community puppet, professional individual, best personality). Include prizes (either cash or otherwise) to attract more people to be involved in the event.
