News - Musician fulfils his Grandmother’s wish
Wednesday 17 November 2004

Danny Morris gave his grandmother her longed-for wish when he performed live at Forum North.
The Whangarei entertainer has been involved with music since he was 13 and his grandmother Joyce Green told him she wanted to see him put on a professional performance.
Danny decided that now was the time and then wondered what charity he could donate the concert’s proceeds to. “It wasn’t about the money. I just wanted to make people happy”.
Someone mentioned Northland Cystic Fibrosis Branch, so Danny agreed. “I thoroughly enjoy live entertaining and I love kids and this (the concert) helped them out”.
The Danny Morris Variety Concert raised $720 and Danny says it was so successful he will be putting on another one next year.
Danny was helped on stage by local singers Tammy D’Ath and Rachel Wedgewood and the Whangarei Rock ‘n Roll Club.
He says he would like to thank all the people who helped him with the concert and says his grandmother thoroughly enjoyed the night’s entertainment.
