News - Brett Berge produces detailed works of art at The Papermill
Monday 22 November 2004

Brett Berge produces detailed works of art at The Papermill. He spends hours sketching objects placed in front of him.
He has been attending The Papermill for the past eight years after sustaining a brain injury. The drawing started when Papermill Director Rhondda Rutherford-Dunn would place objects in front of him to keep him occupied.
“One day we put something in front of him to sketch and out it came. It doesn’t matter what you put in front of him, it will come out.”
“He’s a very, very accomplished artist”.
While Brett has limited verbal skills, he enjoys interacting with visitors and enjoys displaying his work.
Ms Rutherford-Dunn said Brett was an example of someone who had benefited from the establishment of The Papermill but might not find full-time paid-employment out in the community.
