News - Artists in Schools Update and Request for Programme Info 2005

The Secondary Schools Arts Coordinators Project is a Ministry of Education project that aims to support and strengthen arts curriculum delivery in secondary schools. It encourages student involvement in the Visual Arts by providing opportunities for the school to draw on the wider expertise of artists and performers in the community/regions and nationally to enrich the in-class curriculum programme.

I am funded in a part time capacity to run a website: artistsinschools.co.nz that features opportunities and I notify HOD Arts as much as I can. I also maintain a database of Artists who are available to go into schools. A lot of these people are available to travel. I am involved in coordinating and communicating between schools and artists.
