Arts Promotion Trust (Northland)
Policy for acting as Umbrella Organisation for Funding

At the discretion of Arts Promotion Trust management, Arts Promotion Trust may be able to act as an “umbrella” organisation for other individuals and organisations to apply for funding under our not-for-profit status.

The following conditions apply:

Your project must be creative sector related and not for profit by nature.

Your project must be consistent with the objects of Arts Promotion Trust (see Trust Deed).

You must be able to prove to Arts Promotion Trust you are capable of:

  • Carrying out the project

  • Meeting the administrative requirements of the funding

  • Dealing with the funder in a professional manner

You must include in your budget, an amount to be paid to Arts Promotion Trust to cover the costs of administration.  This amount will be set by Arts Promotion Trust on a case by case basis.

If you are registered for GST the amount paid to you will be GST inclusive, Arts Promotion Trust will require a tax invoice.  If you are not registered for GST the amount paid will be GST exclusive.

Your application must not diminish Arts Promotion Trust’s opportunity to apply for funding eg if a particular funder only allows one application per year, and Arts Promotion Trust is planning on applying to that fund, then you will not be able to apply to that fund under our umbrella.

You will be clear at all times when communicating with funding agencies that Arts Promotion Trust is an umbrella organisation and that is our only involvement in your project.

You will meet all costs involved with compiling the funding application including human resource.

You will acknowledge the assistance of Arts Promotion Trust on any publicity material.

You must meet all obligations under the funding agreement, including but not limited to reporting requirements.  Any reports are to be sent to Arts Promotion Trust for review, a minimum of 2 weeks before the due date.

If you do not meet the requirements of the funding agreement, you agree to indemnify Arts Promotion Trust for any costs incurred relating to your non-compliance.

If you wish to investigate this possibility, please email karen@apt.org.nz:

  • A précis of your project

  • Resume/s of key personnel

  • Funder/s you wish to apply to, their criteria, and how your project fits their criteria.

Please limit the above to 1000 words in total.  Limit attachments to 200KB in total.
